Posted Thursday, June 13th 2013 @ 11am

Two people are dead following a collision in Bedford County Wednesday evening.

A car ran a stop sign and pulled in front of a truck at Joppa Mill Road and Route 122 shortly after 7 p.m., according to Virginia State Police. Sadly, the driver of the truck and a passenger in the car were killed.

State Police identified the truck's driver as David Howe from Graham, North Carolina. A passenger in the truck, the driver’s wife, Pearl Howe, was seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

Police said Mariah Skalka was driving the car that pulled out in front of Mr. Howe. She was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The passenger in the car, Elizabeth Wilson from Minnesota, died.

Our prayers to the families.
