WYYD Grants Christmas Wish for Bedford Woman

New Country 107.9 WYYD, an iHeartMedia station, has granted a local woman her Christmas wish to help her daughter who has cerebral palsy.

iHeartMedia teamed up with State Farm and the new movie “Little Women” to grant Christmas wishes all across America. This marked the 13th annual “Granting Your Christmas Wish” program which attracted thousands of entries with wishes ranging from plane tickets to visit family members, toys for children, assistance with bills, family vacations, to housing repairs and more. The nationwide contesting began on November 21, 2019 and ended on December 13, 2019.

All participants were required to submit a short paragraph stating why they should have their wish granted or to nominate someone worthy in their lives. The program was designed to share listeners’ personal stories.

Judith Bailey of Bedford wrote that her Christmas wish was to get a van ramp lift for her daughter with cerebral palsy. “Our daughter Abbigail has cerebral palsy. She is a very bright, 24-year-old. She struggles with loneliness and depression. She needs to be able to go, not only to doctor's appointments, but to be social, to live! We are in need of an accessible (ramp/lift) van. I am no longer able to lift her into our current van. It will be great to be able to help her strive in life. Thank you for giving hope to those in need. Merry Christmas!”

Scott Stevens, program director and afternoon talent on WYYD congratulated Judith on her wish being granted by iHeartRadio.
