WEIRD NEWS: In My Former Life

A British man claims he flew a plane in World War 1 and he has very vivid memories of being shot down, but he wasn't actually born until 1961, so what's the deal?

Well, Steve Mulligan insists that the memories he has are from a previous life in which he believes he was a Welsh pilot named Sydney Sutcliffe and died at the age of 24 when he was shot down. He says he always had strange visuals popping into his head where he was looking down from high up in the sky. He also remembered being very interested in a town in Wales called Llandudno. When he was a kid, his mother brought him there and he immediately knew his way around town and couldn't understand why.

So he recently visited a hypnotist named Paul Goddard who put him to sleep to see what memories he could recall. While he was under, he recalled some very detailed memories, including being shot down over France. After the session, he took a trip back to the town in Wales and visited a war memorial where he saw the name Sydney Sutcliffe on a list of locals who died in the first world war. But that's not all. The pilot's mother died in 1960, nine months before Mulligan was born -- or reborn, as he believes. (Daily Post)

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Sounds legit to me.
  • How does anyone prove him wrong?
  • He should get into a WWI-era plane and see if remembers how to fly it.
