As we see more and more electric vehicles on the roads, it seems that electric cars are the future. Not having to deal with fluctuating gas prices and pollution from old cars would be great.

But ... Things aren't perfect.

When Hurricane Ian swept through Florida, electric cars were stranded in water -- and then they started sparking and exploding as the water got into all the electric components.

Firefighters in the Southeast are doing their best to battle these car fires, but admit that it's a new challenge.

It takes special training and understanding of electric vehicles to make sure these fires are put out quickly and safely. And now, the first responders are trying to keep up with this new high-tech mess.
