NEW RECORD SET FOR FASTEST-ACCELERATING ELECTRIC VEHICLE
A team of students at the University of Stuttgart in Germany scored a Guinness World Record by building an electric vehicle that accelerated from zero to 62 miles per hour in 1.461 seconds -- the fastest ever recorded.
The car is tiny, a one-seater weighing in at around 316 pounds. But the car is also powerful, delivering 1,750 horsepower per ton -- and peak acceleration forces that reach 2.5G.
