License to Meth (A Florida Man Story)

 License to Meth

A Florida man arrested for possession of meth told sheriff's deputies that he was "allowed to carry methamphetamine," and that they should contact the FBI and local police because they would back up his claim.

It should be noted that neither the federal government nor local law enforcement agencies issue permits to carry meth. deputies spotted 50-year-old Robert Lawson loitering in the woods and questioned him. He gave them permission to search him and his bags and that's when they found a used syringe and a crystal substance which tested positive for meth. Despite his insistence that he has a license to carry the drug, he was placed under arrest and charged with possession. (The Smoking Gun)

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Maybe he has a "Get out of jail free" card, too.
  • Maybe he's not crazy and he's telling the truth. It's at least worth a phone call to the FBI.
  • He's probably going to call the FBI now and ask why they didn't have his back.
