Artificial Intelligence Can Talk To Animals
A team of German researchers has trained an artificial intelligence to communicate with animals. The team used the AI to decode patterns in nonhuman sound, like the waggle dance of honeybees and the low-frequency noises of elephants, enabling the AI to communicate and control the wild animals.
Karen Bakker, with the University of British Columbia, says that this AI can be added to robots to “breach the barrier of interspecies communication,” but she says the development raises ethical questions about domesticating animals we never have before.
