Money Talks (A Florida Woman Story)

 Money Talks

A Florida woman arrested for stealing a wallet inside a Waffle House, told cops she had to do it because "the money was calling to me."

Police say the owner of the wallet paid for their meal and accidentally left it on the counter. Police reviewed surveillance footage and saw 47-year-old Kwanita Morton looking around and placing her hat on top of the wallet. She then slid the hat and the wallet into her hands and walked out of the restaurant, leaving her husband and child inside to pay. Police reviewed the surveillance footage and identified Morton. They visited her at her home and she admitted to swiping the wallet. That's when she explained to them that "the money was calling to me." The wallet contained credit cards and more than $2,000 in cash. Morton, who has a history of theft convictions, was charged with felony grand theft charge and booked into the county jail. Scott's Thoughts:

  • She smothered and covered that wallet.
  • Who keeps that much cash in their wallet, and goes to Waffle House?
  • It's amazing how people forget that cameras are everywhere.
