Forget drug dogs, China is taking a brand-new approach to finding drugs coming across their border. Police have “successfully trained” squirrels to sniff out drugs, and they say the rodents have been doing an “excellent job” during testing.
They won’t be officially deployed anytime soon, as police dog trainer Yin Jin says, “It’s probably going to take some time.” It’s taken years to train the six squirrels in the program.
