A Chick-fil-A location in Royersford, Pennsylvania, is sparking a debate online after announcing they’re no longer allowing unaccompanied kids and teens to eat there.
The location shared the announcement on Facebook page, blaming a series of “unacceptable behaviors” for the decision. It explains that on Saturdays and days when school is out, they get school-age kids coming in without their parents, often in groups who were dropped off at a nearby bounce park and then walk over to Chick-fil-A. The restaurant’s complaints include:
- Volume - Beyond being loud, there’s also a lot of explicit language, which the family-friendly restaurant says it can’t tolerate.
- Mistreatment of property - The young people throw food and trash around and leave it on the tables, floor and chairs, as well as steal decorations and vandalize tables and restrooms.
- Disrespect of employees - Staff members are laughed at, made fun of, cursed at, treated rudely and ignored when they ask the kids to change their behavior or leave.
- Unsafe behaviors in the parking lot and drive thru lanes.
The post explains that the location wants “to provide a comfortable and safe environment” for guests and staff, as well as protect their building, so they’re no longer allowing anyone under 16 to dine there without an adult. Hundreds of comments have been left, with some expressing frustration over their own experience at this location because of kids behaving badly.
- “I gotta say, I’m surprised it took you this long to say something,” writes one supporter.
- “Although I don’t agree with many of CFA’s policies, I strongly agree with this one,” shares another.
- But not everyone thinks the policy is a good one. One woman asks, “As a company that is guided by Christian values, I have to wonder if this action is what Christ would have wanted? Where in the Bible does it say "Thou shall turn away youth who clearly need guidance?”

Scott's Thoughts:
- I disagree with this policy and would not go there anymore. However, this is ONE Chick-Fil-A. Don't take it out on our local stores because these guys are stupid.
- But how are they going to enforce this? Will staff members have to start carding everyone who comes in and looks young?
- I feel not all kids are alike. You have to police case by case. Get the bad kids out and let the good ones stay.
