STUDY: HUSBANDS STRESS MOMS OUT MORE THAN KIDS

Some women like to joke about how their husband can feel like having an extra kid, and new research offers some insight into why that is. According to a new survey of 7-thousand U.S. moms, they stress out over their husbands twice as much as they stress over their kids.

It reveals that the majority of moms are extremely stressed, as they rate their overall stress level at an 8.5 out of 10. And nearly half of them (46%) feel that their husbands cause them way more stress than their children. That may be because three-quarters of moms feel they have to do all the household and parenting chores, otherwise the work won’t get done.

The mothers in the poll also shared some specifics about how their husbands make their jobs harder:

  • “A 7-year-old is going to be a 7-year-old, but a 35-year-old acting like a 7-year-old is more stressful because they should know better,” one mom explains.
  • “I am exhausted emotionally and physically when my husband comes home,” comments another. “He feels like another job.”
