STUDY: THE BEST COUNTRIES FOR WOMEN & THE U.S. ISN’T ONE

No country in the world has reached full equality for men and women yet, but some countries are doing a better job of closing the gender pay gap and new research reveals which ones they are. The World Economic Forum has just come out with its latest Global Gender Gap Report and it estimates that global gender equality won’t happen until at least 2154.

  • This is the 17th year of the report, which compares 146 countries’ gender gaps in four areas: economic opportunities, educational attainment, health and survival, and political empowerment.
  • Iceland tops the list for the 14th consecutive year, followed by Norway and Finland.
  • The U.S. doesn’t make the top 20 of the best countries for women, it’s 43rd this year, down from 27th in 2022.

These are the 20 best countries for women in 2023:

  1. Iceland
  2. Norway
  3. Finland
  4. New Zealand
  5. Sweden
  6. Germany
  7. Nicaragua

Scott's Thoughts:

  • They must be doing something right in Europe!
  • I am surprised the U.S. isn’t in the top 20 best countries for women!
  • How can global gender equality take until at least 2154? Talk about discouraging!
