Now that a Canadian couple has broken the record for the longest habanero pepper kiss, they’re on the hunt for more spicy awards to take home. Mike and Jamie Jack, from Ontario, Canada are the new Guinness World Record holders for being able to lock lips for 15 minutes, 6.5 seconds after choking down habanero peppers. “We had 30 seconds to each eat a habanero and then we put our lips together for as long as we wanted,” Mike Jack told Guinness. Fun fact: Habaneros are about 100,000 to 350,000 in Scoville heat units.
Now that they’ve tackled the habanero kiss, the Jacks are looking for new records to beat. Mike and Jamie have even applied to attempt the record for the longest Bhut Jolokia chili pepper kiss. That spicy little devil reaches over 1,000,000 Scoville heat units.
