WORLD'S OLDEST MAN DEAD RIGHT BEFORE 128TH BIRTHDAY

The “world's oldest man” has passed away less than a week before his 128th birthday. Jose Paulino Gomes, who noted that he “liked to have a little drink”, was reportedly born on August 4th, 1895, according to his 1917 marriage certificate. Jose's granddaughter Eliane Ferreira explained that in the countryside where they lived, “There are several cases with incorrect documentation,” but that “he was at least 110 years old”.

As far as the Guinness World Record holder is concerned, the current record holder, is Maria Branyas Morera, who is 115 and lives in Spain.
