Guy Busted For Buying Alpaca Farm With PPP Loan: A former pizzeria owner has been popped for using over $660,000 in ill-gotten gains through relief funds to buy an alpaca farm. In 2020, Dana McIntyre, 59, who lives in Vermont, submitted a fraudulent claim for a Paycheck Protection Program loan, according to prosecutors. He claimed he needed money for payroll expenses at the pizza place. But after getting the cash, he sold the restaurant and used the “dough” to buy eight alpacas, plus the farm. He also paid for two vehicles and radio airtime to host his own show. At his sentencing, McIntyre was ordered to pay back all the money after pleading guilty to four counts of wire fraud and three counts of money laundering.
