WOMAN MISTAKES CANCER FOR BUG BITES NINE TIMES

Sometimes you’re not overreacting. A woman is sharing her story on social media warning people to double check some diagnoses they get from the doctor. The influencer, who goes by “HR_Molly” online, revealed that the acne and bug bites she had turned out to be cancer…nine times. Molly’s dermatologist claimed she had nothing to worry about. However, she ended up having nine basal cell carcinomas removed from her face, ears, back, legs, chest, and stomach.

Though skin cancer is most common with white skin, Molly recommends everyone get check out, no matter what their background or sun exposure looks like. “Your genetics load the weapon, and your environment pulls the trigger,” the now cautious woman warns. Thankfully, this kind of cancer is rarely deadly and often treatable as data shows there are about 5.4 million skin cancer cases in the US each year, with the disease killing 9,500 people.
