A Georgia man is under arrest and accused of trying to use a firework to shoot down a helicopter carrying newlyweds.
David Jeter of Cherokee County lives next door to a wedding venue and has a history of making threats to the owners as well as guests attending events there. On October 20th, a wedding had just concluded and the bride-and-groom were leaving in grand fashion -- aboard a helicopter. as the couple boarded the aircraft, Jeter was heard shouting angrily outside his house. Then 15 minutes later, the helicopter took off and that's when witnesses say they heard a firework “shoot off and explode” in “close proximity to the helicopter as it was still low." Security at the venue immediately suspected Jeter was behind it.
Officers visited Jeter's neighbor who lives across the street and reviewed her doorbell camera which showed a firework rocket being set off from Jeter's home. Officers had probably cause to arrest him and he's charged with terroristic acts. (The Macon Telegraph)
