A Barbie fan in New York is going from the Dreamhouse to the big house.
Police in Buffalo say 26-year-old Emoni Thompson stole $800 worth of Barbie toys from a Walmart store and then led cops on a high-speed chase in a pink Corvette -- actually, it was a Ford Escape. Officers who were called to the store and given a description were able to locate Thompson on the road and attempted to pull her over. But she sped up and tried to outrun them, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph. Cops ultimately gave up the chase, citing public safety concerns, but were able to locate her the following day and place her under arrest.
Thompson is charged with larceny, fleeing an officer, and multiple traffic offenses. It's unclear whether the stolen Barbie items were found or returned. (The Smoking Gun)
