Well... It's Called Chopt, After All

Getting a chopped salad may appeal to some who like their leafy greens with a lot of different add-ins, but a Connecticut woman expecting things like carrots, celery and tomatoes was shocked and disgusted when she bit down on a severed finger.

Allison Cozzi is suing the Chopt Creative Salad restaurant chain, claiming that she was eating a salad at a location in Westchester County, New York when she suddenly realized that "she was chewing on a portion of a human finger that had been mixed in to, and made a part of, the salad.” The lawsuit states that a manager at the restaurant had cut off part of an index finger while chopping arugula and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, the restaurant allowed the arugula to be served, along with the piece of finger that ended up in Cozzi's salad.

Cozzi says the incident left her with several impairments including dizziness, migraine headaches, nausea, panic attacks, and recurring neck and shoulder pain. She is seeking unspecified monetary damages. (NBC News)

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Like I needed another reason not to eat a salad.
  • With a name like Chopt, this was bound to happen.
  • So gross. She probably thought it was a carrot or crouton before realizing it was a finger.
