Oscar Mayer Is Looking for Wienermobile Drivers & Goodbye Fruit Stripe Gum

Oscar Mayer Is Looking for Wienermobile Drivers: Oscar Mayer is hiring a dozen "Hotdoggers" for year-long, full-time positions to drive their iconic Wienermobiles, a 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels. Applicants have until January 31st to apply for the 37th class of Hotdoggers, a role that involves traveling and maintaining one of the six Wienermobiles, covering an average of 20-thousand miles, visiting over 20 states, and distributing 250-thousand Wiener Whistles annually. The role also includes creating content for the brand's social media and participating in unique promotional activities, like overseeing weddings and introducing new products. Less than 1% of applicants are selected for this role, making it rarer than admission to an Ivy League university, with recommended qualifications including a bachelor's degree and strong communication skills. The position offers a base salary of $35,600, a weekly allowance, paid time off, health benefits, and covered hotel expenses.

Say Goodbye To Fruit Stripe Gum: Fruit Stripe gum, the nostalgic chewing gum brand known for its vibrant packaging, wrappers featuring temporary tattoos, zebra mascot, and intense but fleeting fruit flavor, has been discontinued. The decision, made by its current owner, Ferrara Candy Company, was based on factors like consumer preferences and purchasing patterns. Despite its historical popularity since the 1960s, Fruit Stripe has long been criticized for its quickly fading flavor. While it will no longer be produced, Ferrara says remaining stocks are still available in some stores and online for the time being.

Wendy’s Vanilla Frosty Returns For Winter: Wendy's has announced the return of the Vanilla Frosty for Winter 2024 after a temporary hiatus. This frozen dessert, made with real cream, vanilla flavoring, and fresh milk, was replaced by specialty flavors like the Peppermint Frosty and Strawberry Frosty in previous seasons. While the original Chocolate Frosty remained available, the Vanilla Frosty's comeback is in response to popular demand, having been a permanent addition to the menu since 2006. Wendy's has occasionally introduced new Frosty flavors, including pumpkin spice and birthday cake, but the Vanilla Frosty remains a classic favorite.
