Is the way we work outdated?

According to a new survey, more than 70% of respondents think the American work system is stuck in the 20th century – from the hours they work to the way they’re paid.

  • 57% say the traditional 9-5, five-day workweek doesn’t work for them.
  • 51% believe that a rigid work schedule and a lack of flexibility are relics of the past.
  • 67% say getting paid once or twice a month is an outdated model.
  • 56% say they “always or “often” find themselves stretching their income between pay periods, with the average employee running out of funds 12 days after being paid.
  • 64% of employees surveyed said they would prefer to be paid weekly, while 19% said they’d like to be paid every day.
  • 74% said a job is more appealing if they’re able to access their wages sooner.
