A Florida woman has gone to war with the HOA of her housing complex and has singlehandedly put the entire neighborhood at risk of flooding.
The woman is at odds with the HOA over a storm water pipe in the development which she claims was somehow installed underneath her house without her knowledge or permission. The HOA insists the pipe has been there since the '80s and it leads rainwater from the development into a retention pond. At least it used to because last month the woman hired a crew to pour concrete into the drainage pipe, which has caused recent rain water to overflow and put the entire complex at risk of flooding.
Local government agencies say they cannot get involved because the dispute involves private property. But lawyers say that a judge could hold the homeowner liable for repairs and any damage caused as a result of flooding. Florida's Department of Environmental Protection says they are looking into the matter. (WFTV-TV Orlando)
