It was a lofty goal, but this past weekend organizers of an attempt to break the record for the world’s largest water balloon fight fell short of their goal. Saturday night at the San Joaquin Fair Grounds, in California, 3K people showed up to unleash over 202K water balloons in Operation Soak the City. The “celebration of non-violence” was put together by Balloons Over Bullets, in hopes of “choosing laughter and joy over violence.” To break the record, the event needed to draw over 10K participants and surpass the 209K water balloon threshold.
