A black bear appearing to be sad and depressed on the side of a road in Florida has been getting a lot of attention.
The large bear has been sitting by a telephone pole and sulking along Highway 98 in Santa Rosa Beach. Passersby have slowed down to get a look at the sad bear, and some have even grabbed their phones to snap a selfie with him. It's gotten to the point where people have felt comfortable gotten a little too close to him that police have had to step in to remind people that the bear, whether it's sad or not, is still a dangerous wild animal and should not be approached.
Experts say the bear appears to be experiencing some stress, but does not appear to be injured. They've suggested that he was perhaps overheated and simply catching a rest. Fish and Wildlife officials say this is a busy time of year for bears in Florida when juveniles start separating from their mothers to find their own habitat. (Pensacola News Journal)
