  • To find the most festive and affordable cities, WalletHub rated the 100 biggest U.S. cities on 28 key indicators in five areas: Traditions & Fun, Observance, Generosity, Shopping and Costs.
  • Indicators include everything from the cost of a three-star hotel room to toy stores per capita.
  • Based on all that, which city is the best place in the country to celebrate Christmas?
  • Atlanta is number one, coming in sixth for Shopping and seventh for Traditions & Fun. But it’s not cheap, landing at 60 for Costs.
  • New York City is first for Traditions & Fun, while Birmingham, Alabama, is number one for Observance, Orlando is first for Shopping, and Seattle is number one for Generosity.
  • At the bottom of the list is North Las Vegas, Nevada, making it the worst place to celebrate Christmas.
