The World's Best City Is In Mexico According To "Travel + Leisure"

There’s a surprising choice for “best city in the world” out now. San Miguel de Allende, a colonial city in Mexico, has been named the world's best city by “Travel + Leisure” magazine. The ranking comes from the publication's annual survey of readers, and this Mexican city beat out famous places like Tokyo, Bangkok, and other popular destinations. San Miguel de Allende is a historic city that played an important role in the Mexican Revolution. It was the birthplace of two revolutionary heroes, Ignacio Allende and Juan Aldama, and has historic landmarks like the Baroque church Santuario de Jesús Nazareno de Atotonilco. The top 10 list also included Chiang Mai in Thailand in second place and Tokyo in third. Other cities that made the list were Bangkok, Jaipur, Hoi An, Mexico City, Kyoto, Ubud in Bali, and Cuzco in Peru.
