Arrests made in apartment complex shootings.

Salem Police said it's made three arrests in connection to a shooting at the Salem Commons apartment complex on April 17.

Police said officers responded to the 1700 block of Salem Commons Lane in reference to shots fired around 3 a.m. where they found two men with multiple gunshot wounds.

One of the suspects, Gabriel Wimmer, 19, of Salem, was found outside of the complex, while the second male, Keeley Thacker, 21, of Salem, was located inside of a nearby apartment.

Police said the two were verbally fighting in reference to drugs when it escalated.

Both men were taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial for treatment.

Thacker has been released from the hospital, but Wimmer remains hospitalized.

Police said Thacker has been charged with discharging a firearm within city limits and distribution of marijuana.
