LPD: SIRT makes 44 arrests in one month after launching program

June 25, 2018 - The Lynchburg Police Department said it has continued to have success with their Special Investigations Response Team (SIRT) this summer. 

Police said during the week of June 17, the SIRT arrested 19 people on charges that included auto theft, property damage, open container of alcohol, felony threats made, drugs, firearm violations, hindering a police officer, and driver license violation.

They said two firearms were taken during the week as well.
