July 19, 2018 - Lynchburg Police say they are investigating an attempted murder. Officers responded to the 800 block of Greenfield Drive yesterday to investigate several calls from citizens reporting gunfire outside of the apartment complex.
Officers were able to determine that there was gunfire exchanged between two individuals and that they had been in a verbal confrontation before the shooting.
Police say they suspect, 21-year-old Calvin Traquan Harrison, of Altavista tried to shoot the victim.
The girlfriend of the victim was hit in the leg with bullet fragments and received minor injuries.
With help from the U.S. Marshals Service, police were able to locate Harrison yesterday afternoon in an apartment in the James Crossing Apartments on Greenfield Drive.
