July 19, 2018 - There is currently an urgent need for blood donors. A dangerously low blood supply prompts nationwide call for blood donors. Blood and platelet donors are urged to give now. Donations of type O are especially needed since it is a universal blood type.
Each time you donate blood, you are saving up to three lives.
Virginia Blood Services (VBS) is the sole provider of blood to every Carilion Clinic and Veteran's Affairs Hospitals in Virginiaand West Virginia, and the secondary provider to Lewis-Gale.
iHeartMEDIA is teaming up with VBS for the annual Broadcasters Blood Drive which will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Salem Civic Center. There will be food and prizes.

Wednesday, July 25th from 8:30am-2:30pm @ Carilion New River Valley Hospital
Wednesday, July 25th from 9am-1pm @ Montgomery County Govt. Center, Christiansburg
Thursday, July 26th from 2-6pm @ USW-Local 8-495, 7322Peppers Ferry Blvd, Fairlawn/Radford
Friday, July 27th from 11am-4pm @ InMotion, Blacksburg
Saturday, July 28th from 11am-3pm @ Lowe’s Fairlawn/Radford
Tuesday, July 31st from 10am-4pm @ Carilion Giles Community Hospital
Individuals can also donate at the Virginia Blood Services Donor Center located at 131 Electric Road in Salem.
