The Amherst County Sheriff's Office announced that 48-year-old Carla Johnson of Lynchburg died after drowning in Sweet Briar Lake Friday afternoon.
The incident happened around 5pm, Friday afternoon. According to the Sheriff's office, she was located in six feet of water.
Johnson has been transported to Medical Examiners Office in Roanoke for examination.
