Cave Spring Fire Displaces Family And Pets

A family and their animals are displaced after a house fire early this morning in Cave Spring. 

Roanoke County Fire and Rescue responded to the 3300 block of View Avenue around 1:55 a.m.  Crews found smoke showing from the front of the house. 

According to fire officials, the family occupying the home were awakened by a commotion from family pets just before their smoke alarms went off. 

Two adults, two children and their pets were able to safely escape without injuries.

They said the family will be staying with family and will be assisted by the American Red Cross.
