Saturday Roanoke Shooting Victim ID'd

The Roanoke Police Department has identified the man who died in a late night homicide Saturday in Roanoke.

Police said officers were called to the 1300 block of Maple Avenue SW for a report of a gunshot victim around 11:30 p.m.

When they got there, police found Milton Roman, 28 of Brooklyn, NY with multiple gunshot wounds.

Roman was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said Roman was with a friend, identified as Jonathan Billings, 33 of Roanoke, at an apartment on Maple Avenue, SW at the time he was shot. Billings was hurt during the incident.

UPDATE: Roanoke Police have identified the victim of the homicide on February 2, 2019 as Milton Roman, 28 of Brooklyn, NY. Roman was with an acquaintance, identified as Jonathan Billings, 33 of Roanoke, at an apartment on Maple Ave SW at the time of the incident. At this time, the investigation indicates both men were victims of a home invasion. Billings sustained minor injuries during the incident.

At this time, no arrests have been made. The investigation is on going.
