Alleged MS-13 gang member pleads guilty to charges in teen's death

A man charged in connection to the death of a teenager in Lynchburg has pleaded guilty to his involvement.

Juan Martin Hernandez, 24, pleaded guilty to two felony charges, gang participation and accessory after the fact to capital murder, and one misdemeanor, accessory after the fact to abduction at a hearing in Bedford County this afternoon.

The charge of accessory after the fact means he did not directly participate in the committing of a crime, but provided some sort of assistance after the crime had occurred, Nance said.

His charges stem from an offense date of March 28, 2017, which is the day after Raymond Wood was found dead on Roaring Run Road.

Two of the alleged MS-13 gang members have already been found guilty for Wood's murder.
