Northam Announces No Change in COVID-19 Guidelines Before Labor Day

Gov. Ralph Northam says he will not be making any changes to coronavirus/COVID-19 business guidelines this Labor Day due to spikes in cases surrounding Memorial Day and July 4 earlier this summer.

Northam says the number of cases in the state has remained steady but said Virginians need to remain vigilant.

“This virus is still alive and well across the commonwealth and we need to continue the guidelines and remain vigilant,” Northam said.

"Large gatherings are still not a good idea, continue to stay six feet or more from people, wear face coverings, and do your socializing outdoors. We don't want to see a spike in cases," he added.
