Update: E.C. Glass Lockout Lifted Following Nearby Police Activity

Update: LPD says one person is in custody and they are in process of clearing the scene.

The lockout at EC Glass High School has been lifted.

The Lynchburg Police Department told ABC13 they were fulfilling a search warrant in the 1900 block of 3rd Street near the intersection with Page Street.

According to LPD, there were two tactical units on the scene, along with the FBI.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — E.C. Glass High School and Dearington Elementary School were placed on lockout Thursday morning.

Lynchburg City Schools said this is due to police activity in the area.

E.C. Glass went on lockout and then Dearington Elementary followed shortly after.

According to LCS, students and staff are safe and classes are still in session.

A lockout means that no one can come into the building.

LCS said there are no police officers near the school.
