Chris Lane shared a sweet moment with his son on stage at CMA Fest in Nashville, Tennessee.
The âTake Back Home Girlâ singer took the Chevy Riverfront stage on Sunday (June 8), the final day of the Country Music Associationâs four-day festival that takes over downtown Music City. Lane told his massive audience that he was performing on his firstborn sonâs 4th birthday. He walked off stage to invite son Dutton Walker to join him, and instead, emerged with his younger son, Baker Weston, who turns 3 in October.
âThis is Baker. Itâs not his birthday today. But Dutton is right over here and he is being very shy, which is surprising,â Lane said. âAlright, Dutton. You donât have to come out here, baby. Thatâs OK. We just wanted to sing you âHappy Birthday.â So, how about this? Weâll sing it to him on the side of the stage over there, alright? He just turned 4 this morning. âŚHappy birthday, baby. Love you, buddy.â
Lane led the crowd in a rendition of âHappy Birthdayâ to Dutton, and prompted Baker to wave before he joined his brother backstage.
The country star said he has âa 4-year-old and a 2-year-old now, but one on the way, yâall. âŚI want to play you the song that started it all, with a song that I wrote for my girlfriend at the time. I used this song to propose to her in her parentsâ backyard, and you changed my life with it in a couple different ways,â he said as he started his performance of his 2019 ballad, âBig, Big Plans.â
Lane and his wife, Lauren Bushnell Lane, recently announced Laurenâs pregnancy with the caption: âParty of 5 coming this November! đ¤â Chris said in a previous interview with iHeartRadio it was like âwe blinked, and it was here,â while talking about Duttonâs first birthday.
Other country stars welcoming babies into the family in 2025 include Sam Hunt, Lauren Alaina, Lady Aâs Hillary Scott, Lady Aâs Charles Kelley and more. See the growing list of pregnancy announcements here.
