The FDA Guidance Suggests To Cut Salt In Food Supply

See ya, salt. The Food and Drug Administration is asking food manufacturers and restaurants to cut out a bunch of salt in their products. The goal? To reduce Americans' overall sodium intake by 12% to help prevent heart disease. The widespread recommendation is expected to cover a wide variety of foods - from chain restaurant meals to processed food on grocery store shelves and even baby food. Current guidelines recommend that adults consume no more than 2,300 milligrams of sodium a day (about one teaspoon of salt). But the average person in the U.S. has about 3,400 milligrams a day, according to the FDA. How much salt do you think you eat every day? What's one food/meal you can't imagine eating with dumping salt on it?
