Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown, Pa has two new residents they were not expecting.

Inka the female Jaguar had been introduced to male, Sean, three months ago in hopes that someday offspring would result. Apparently the big cats really hit it off, because they are now parents of twin cubs!

Zoo officials did not think a connection or successful breeding would happen so quickly, that’s why they were shocked when Inka started going into labor.

How is the little family getting along? "The cubs look great, are actively nursing for long periods of time, and are very vocal," the zoo says. "Inka is a very attentive mother; she's so attentive that it took nearly a week before the staff was able to separate her from them in order to examine the cubs."
