Pitbull is joining Jeb Bush, the son of Mitt Romney and a CNBC star in their quest to reel in the Miami Marlins baseball team. A spokesman for Armando Christian Perez, best known as the rapper Pitbull, confirmed yesterday for the "Miami Herald" the celebrity is joining the group pursuing the National League team.
By adding Pitbull, the ownership group thinks it will promote local ties. Three ownership groups are competing for approval by Marlins ownerJeffrey Loria and Major League Baseball to purchase the Miami team. Yankees great Derek Jeter was originally partnered with Bush before the pairing split. Michael Jordan is now onboard with the group as is money manager Bruce Sherman.Source: USA Today
