It’s a safe bet that many hot dogs will be consumed today in celebration of National Hot Dog Day.
Unfortunately, there’s one you shouldn’t. Sabrett is recalling more than 7 million pounds of beef and pork dogs plus other sausage products because of small bone and cartilage fragments that may have gotten in to the food.
The US Agriculture Department made the announcement and noted the issue was an equipment installation issue and the problem has been fixed. The products affected were produced between March 17, 2017 and July 4, 2017, and were shipped nationwide. They display the establishment number “EST. 8854” inside the USDA mark of inspection and have a sell-by date between June 19, 2017 to October 6, 2017.
