One man’s explanation for stealing billions didn’t fly with a judge.
John Michael Haskew, of Lakeland, Florida, was busted in mid-December after he allegedly set up the wire transfers from what the criminal complaint described as “a large, nationally renowned financial institution.”
Haskew successfully took seven billion (that’s right.. billion) dollars out of a bank using a fake routing number. Needless to say, he left tracks and was arrested.
When talking to investigators, he said he believed his wire transfer scheme would allow him to “obtain the wealth that Jesus Christ created for him and that belonged to him,” and “Jesus Christ created wealth for everyone.”
Haskew is looking at five years in jail after agreeing to a plea deal last week. Source: Huffington Post
