A Florida man proved he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer -- by pulling a very sharp, very long sword on a store owner in an effort to steal one can of beer.
Reginald Lide strolled into the Time Saver convenience store in Tallahassee and pointed a two-foot sword at the owner before demanding a single brewski, but got cut short by the man -- who responded by coming at him with a broom handle. A deputy on routine patrol heard shouting coming from the business and saw Lide standing outside, cursing and gesturing towards the checkout counter.
The 48-year-old tried to flee the scene, but was apprehended and brought back to the store, where the owner identified him as the attempted suds swiper. (Tallahassee Democrat)
