Oscar-nominated actor James Cromwell is going to jail.

The 77-year-old, who has appeared in more than 50 movies including L.A. Confidential, The People vs. Larry Flynt, The Green Mile and Babe, was sentenced to one week in the Orange County, New York jail for a civil disobedience arrest back in 2015.

Cromwell was one of six protesters arrested at a construction site where a natural gas power plant was being built. The group blocked the entrance to the site and argued that the plant would cause health issues and lower property values in the area. Cromwell will report to jail on Friday, but will stop off first at the site to hold a rally. (Page Six)

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Maybe he won't actually have to spend the whole week in jail.
  • He was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his role in Babe.
  • If you don't recognize his name, you'll definitely recognize his face. He's been in a lot of movies that you've probably seen.
