TAYLOR SWIFT: Back to Her Roots for One Night

Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance at Nashville's Bluebird Cafe during songwriter Craig Weisman's set on Saturday night.

The intimate songwriters' showcase is near and dear to Taylor. When she was in eighth grade, she signed a publishing deal after Big Machine label head Scott Borchetta saw her perform there.

The appearance was filmed as a part of a documentary honoring the club's 35th anniversary. (Tennessean)

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Country artists still consider Taylor one of their own, no matter what kind of music she makes.
  • Bluebird is famous for pop-ins by big stars who started out there.
  • The Bluebird Cafe was a big deal way before the TV show Nashville.
