Keith Urban On How Dwight Yoakam Collaboration Happened

As we previously told youduring Keith Urban’s set at Stagecoach he was joined on stage by Dwight Yoakam and Brothers Osborne for Dwight’s 1993 hit “Fast as You.” Well, now Keith is opening up about how the collaboration happened.

Keith says that when he heard Dwight was playing Stagecoach his first thought was, “we’ve got to get him up there,” so he texted Dwight to invite him to sit in and Dwight responded “I’d be honored, that’d be great.”

And it seems Brothers Osborne was just as excited as Keith about the performance with Keith noting, “John Osborne, TJ and me, we’re all just kids in a candy store right then. It was so, so awesome for us.”

Keith has always been a big Dwight fan and admits that back in the 90s he had a publicity shot where his clothing choices were inspired by Dwight, with Keith joking he was “Dwighting it to the hilt.”
