Thirty years after Stephen King‘s Pet Sematary was first made into a movie, the horror novel will receive a fresh new cinema version! Coming in April of 2019.
Now I must say... I remember reading this book, before seeing the movie, as well as several other King novels, in the early morning hours after getting off working overnight radio. Those who work the 3rd shift know how hard it can be to go to settle down and go to sleep while the rest of the world is starting their day. And since this was roughly 25 years before Facebook, smart phones and other gadgets... a book could sometimes help to settle the mind to a restful enough state to start to doze off. But I learned fairly quickly that King novels were not good for that. Typically 4 hours after getting home I would find myself wide awake calling my friend Andy and tell him... "I'm too scared to go to sleep."
If you love King movies, watch the trailer below. But be prepared to shiver a little bit, especially if you remember – the threat of speeding trucks down a rural road.
Louis Creed is played by Jason Clarke, his wife Rachel by Amy Seimetz, and their odd neighbor, Jud Crandall is played by the legendary John Lithgow. This is one I will see at the premiere. Will you be there? Heck I am scared NOT to be.
