Taylor Swift has been receiving some backlash for sharing her political thoughts on Instagram (mostly from President Trump), but one person is very happy to see Taylor encouraging people to vote - that's Thomas Rhett.
“Taylor’s such a force and whatever she says, a lot of people listen to her,” Thomas tells “People.” “I think it’s great that she’s using her platform to stand up for something she believes in.” He adds, “Whatever town you’re in, voting wise, that can change your way of life or your family’s way of life. It’s very important to register to vote.”
And vote they apparently will. In case you missed it, within 24 hours of T-Swift encouraging people to register, 65-thousand did exactly that in Tennessee. On top of that, more than 150-thousand people also checked out the website in that period.
- ONE MORE THING! Thomas and his wife Lauren root for different teams when it comes to college football, and during a recent head-to-head face off, Thomas’ Georgia Bull Dogs beat Lauren’s University of Tennessee Volunteers, Thomas’ team came out the winner. While it would be easy for Thomas to rub it in his wife’s face, he wouldn’t dare gloat, noting, “I like my happy life way too much.”
