Let’s hear it for dads! According to the National Retail Federation, people are spending more money on Father’s Day this year than ever before. Total spending for the holiday is estimated to reach a record $16 billion, up from last year’s $15.3 billion. 76% of people plan to celebrate with dear ol’ dad on Sunday, and we’re expected to spend, on average, $138.97 -- up from $132.82 last year and way up from $91 in 2009. So what are we getting for dad? Tickets for concerts and sporting events and other special outings, clothes, books, electronics, tools and sporting goods were all top gift choices.
Don’t know what to get dad for Father’s Day? How about some plastic surgery? Yep, according to a new survey, cosmetic procedures are becoming so popular with middle-aged men that many are requesting procedures for Father’s Day. Research by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that lots of dads are turning to what’s being dubbed the “Daddy-Do-Over” to improve their looks and confidence.
