A Really Cold Case
A Ukrainian man showed a cold, cold heart by staging a bogus murder because he didn't feel like shoveling the snow from around his family's home after a blizzard.
The man, whose name was not released, called an emergency number after a big storm and told a dispatcher that he wanted to confess to killing his mother's boyfriend. He said he was willing to surrender, but cops would have to shovel out an impassible road in order to reach him.
Officers hopped into an all-terrain vehicle and headed to the address in question, but found no sign of anyone having been harmed. The caller admitted he'd faked the whole scene in order to get someone to clear the area around his home. He was charged with filing a false report and fined a whopping five bucks.
